New Addition at Mermet Springs!

We will be sinking the Fire Truck on Saturday May 10th at 10 a.m.!

The Fire Truck has been cleaned and the engine, transmission and all grease and oil have been removed.  The truck weighs approximately 15,000 lbs as it sits.  The truck will enter the water and be supported by three 6000lb lift bags and held at a shallow depth.  It will then be moved into deeper water where it will be dropped onto three more 6000lb catch bags and suspended at a depth (approx. 45 feet) that will allow us to float the suspended truck just a few feet off of the bottom.  The truck will then be moved into place between the ambulance and the train car and gently placed on the bottom.  A new rope line will be added from the front of the  Fire Truck to the train car.

SAFETY

We will need the divers to stay clear of the area where the Fire Truck enters the water, where it is suspended and away from the final drop area until we announce the all clear.  We will have safety divers in place to ensure that the area is clear and safe.  We will announce an all clear on the underwater safety recall system after the truck is set in place and all the lift bags are removed.

Your cooperation will help ensure that you and our staff divers are safe!
