About the Public Safety Event

DUI has been working with Public Safety Teams for over 40 years. Their experience and combined knowledge brings you a one of a kind learning opportunity here to Mermet Springs. The Public Safety Diver Event in September 2012 contain information on minimizing risk in the water by using advanced technologies designed to increase diver safety and efficiency.

Diving in contaminated water is a vast and complex topic. DUI's program is based on years of industry experience keeping divers protected in some of the world's harshest environments. Subjects covered include the various mission profiles encountered in public safety diving and which drysuit system configuration is appropriate.

This interactive and hands-on program provides the opportunity to test dive specialized DUI products and the latest in advanced technology for above and below the water.

Public Safety Workshop Program

• Risk mitigation through advanced technology
• The latest research on the effects of contaminated water diving, decontamination effectiveness and practicality
• Drysuit materials and designs for different public safety diving scenarios
• Surface support techniques, line tending and communication
• Grant availability and writing techniques
• Challenges for public safety diving and how DUI equipment helps operators to overcome them
• Hands-on ROV demonstrations

What to Bring to the Public Safety Event

• Diver Certification Card
• Credit Card and/or Drivers License (for us to keep while you have the test equipment)
• Swimsuit or Lightweight Clothing (to wear beneath the drysuit insulation – not cotton)
• Basic Scuba Equipment (Regulator, Mask and Snorkel, Open Heel Fins, BC, Weights, Tank) *can be rented from Mermet Springs
